Welcome to The Play’s The Thing!

Welcome to my latest literary discussion blog, The Play’s The Thing. This is a year-long exploration of Shakespeare, reading all the plays in what is thought to be chronological order. I encourage everyone to read along, comment and discuss!

I am currently concluding a year-long reading of Dostoevsky’s last four novels — The Idiot, The Demons, Crime and Punishment, and The Brothers Karamazov — on Project D. Before that, we read Marcel Proust’s In Search of Lost Time on The Cork-Lined Room.

We will begin reading soon, so be sure to check back for updates or subscribe to this blog’s RSS feed.

Very much looking forward to this Shakespeare project. I hope we can supplement with comments on movie versions, as well as actual theater productions which we have seen. Thanks, Dennis for continuing with more literary explorations.

    • We will definitely explore the movies, as well as the audio versions that are available, and theater productions as well, both past and present (how was the play seen in the 1800s and how is it seen today?). It’s going to be fun.
